The S5000 signal management frame houses up to ten (10) 5000 Series modular products. It provides access to all modules and power supplies via the removeable front door.

All connections to the modules are made via one of the three standard backplane adapters. These adapters are available for modules with AES balanced signals (3-pin screw-terminal blocks), AES unbalanced signals (BNC connectors), and SDI/HD signals (HD-BNC connectors). The standard nature of these adapters allows modules to populate any slot and to mix module functions within an adapter.

The available communications interface allows modules to report their status or have operating parameters adjusted remotely via the RS-485 port. Up to thirty-two (32) frames can be controlled via a single serial port.

The S5000 Signal Management Frame houses the Sigma OctaStream line of products as well as other digital audio and video signal processing and distribution modules available from Sigma Electronics, Inc.
